We arrived during dinner rush, so it took a moment for someone to help us, but they were nice and settled us nicely. We had reserved the last room they had, which was two single beds. The room was small, but clean. The bathroom was shared with two other bedrooms on the top floor. It was also clean and well stocked. Dinner and breakfast were both hearty and the toffee pudding was delicious.

Very tired looking pub and rooms in sister accommodation next door. Staff more interested in speaking to the locals than serving guests. Mac and cheese was tasteless but stuffed pork loin was delicious. Breakfast 👍

After a mix up with our room the manager went out of his way to put us up in a neighbouring pub called the Red lion. We had our evening meal in the white Hart and the food was amazing and service fantastic. After the initial error the staff went out of there way to make sure we enjoyed and stayed and accompanied us very well . Highly recommended

Food & drinks are fairly priced. Food is very nice great selection. The staff are kind & very welcoming. However, the room did slightly let it down. Dusty, cobwebs & damp stains in corners. Walking distance to a nice castle. Fault with the shower, turning itself off & on.

Sunday lunch: Nipped in after a hike thinking it looked not too busy and pretty nice from the outside. Was seated in a very cold room which stank of smoke from ashes of a previous wood fire which hadn’t been cleared. Told no other tables available (not sure why - clearly was). After initial order, left with no service at all for over 40 mins. Music went off after about 5 minutes. Other couples in same room had jumpers and coats on yet nobody came to light the fire or move us. Had to go to bar to ask twice to get food out, finally came an hour after we arrived. Food was burnt but we kept it, not wanting to wait another hour for something better. Pretty poor experience - should’ve left and tried elsewhere rather than wait. Also overpriced. Couldn’t bare thinking about staying for dessert. Left stinking of smoke, out of pocket, unsatisfied and nearly an hour later than we planned driving home. Unfortunately really wouldn’t recommend for dining, reading the reviews it looks pretty hit or miss whether you get them on a good day - we didn’t!
