About Us

Experience the Suffolk countryside in comfort at West Stow Pods, a family-run glamping retreat nestled in an idyllic woodland setting not one mile from the historic Anglo-Saxon village.

Whether you’re seeking to explore the nearby King’s Forest by foot, bicycle or horse, discover West Stow’s famous archaeological site (with its fantastic playground and café!) or just disconnect from the day-to-day humdrum of city life, West Stow Pods is the ideal location.

Our site, situated just four miles from the East Anglian market town of Bury St Edmunds, is home to various types of accommodation including four cosy MegaPods, a more spacious Woodland Lodge and our most recent addition: Pod Hollow, a homely, halfling-inspired subterranean dwelling.

In line with our Suffolk glamping theme, all the accommodation here at West Stow Pods, is fitted with en-suite facilities, designed with your comfort in mind. And trust us, there’s nothing quite like stepping outside your door and having Suffolk’s wonderful rural landscape stretching out before you! Suffolk Glamping at its best.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Woodland Lodge, 2 adults and 2 children. It was so comfortable, clean and a real cosy retreat. The local area is lovely, and the owner was so kind and accommodating - showing us around and telling us about the local area. We hope to return and stay in Pod Hollow soon. Thanks!

The pod smelt of damp. The toilet shower had mould and damp in the corners as there's no heating in the toilet so they are freezing this time of year (November). My wife booked a weekend there for us but the pod was so uncomfortable and smelled we only stayed one night. The mattress is only a couple inches thick so made the one night we stayed there super uncomfortable. With no apparent walks or anything to do it's not a great location.

Nice little break away in a hobbit house. Clean, reasonably authentic to the theme and great fun. Also dog friendly. Little bit pricey.

My partner and I have just returned from two nights at Pod Hollow. This was a birthday treat for me as a huge Lord of the Rings fan and what a pleasurable stay it was. Warm and cosy, with a fully kitted out, clean and modern kitchen and a lovely double shower in bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the whole house was decorated in style and comfort. Great little additions that fans of the books or films will appreciate too. The site is well located in the country, perfect for star gazing at night and easy reach to the nearby Anglo Saxon village and Bury St. Edmunds. The staff we super friendly and helpful, especially when we had an issue which was rectified immediately. Can't wait to return, if I am lucky enough to!

Me, my husband and two children stayed I'm the pods for one night and absolutely loved it! The pods were perfect, we went on a little bike ride, and had a bbq, lovely little get away.
