Calvert House supports people with acquired brain injury, learning disabilities and associated behaviours. It comprises of eight apartments within the support of a residential setting.

At Calvert House we understand that a move to a community based rehabilitation service is a big decision for the individual and their family.

No two journeys are the same, therefore we provide flexible support to meet individual needs. Because no two people are the same, we recommend you arrange a visit to see us to discuss specific needs, and to enable you to gain a greater insight into the service provided.

Supporting you

Our team at Calvert House work with individuals to develop their cognitive, emotional and independent living skills. Each person’s support and rehabilitation plan is bespoke to their needs, utilising person-centred planning tools.

We have a proven track record of supporting people to gain greater independence, and supporting people to move into their own independent accommodation where appropriate.

Calvert House is also able to support individuals who may require longer term support, and regular reviews are held to ensure the service offered is responsive to an individual’s changing needs.

We have access to a therapy team who can provide specialised intervention in the following areas:

Individuals are able to benefit from the independence and privacy of their own apartments, whilst being able to access communal activities should they wish to.

Each person is supported to develop their own activity timetable which include leisure, educational, social and therapeutic activities to complement their own goals and aspirations.

Facilities

The accommodation Calvert House is fully wheelchair accessible, and ceiling track hoist facilities are available. The eight apartments are decorated to the residents’ personal choice, and consist of a large living space, a separate bedroom area, and level access en-suite facilities.

Most apartments have a separate kitchen where people can prepare meals and regain their independence. The apartments are spread over two floors with lift to the second floor.

There is a communal lounge, kitchen and activity room on the ground floor. There is a fully accessible garden with paved and grassed areas to the rear of the property.

The team

Our staff training is tailored towards individual requirements, with regular training updates from the therapy team as support interventions are changed.
