This superb, purpose-built community centre, opened in 1998, is located on the A137 midway between Colchester and Ipswich, five minutes from Manningtree Rail station. Click here for a map.

The Venture Centre 2000 is the home of 1st Lawford Scout Group HQ and is available for hire for Weddings, Parties, business functions and community groups. The Centre comprises two halls, a professional kitchen, fully licensed and staffed bar, meeting room and a spacious car park.

Great local facility serving the community, modern building very well equipped and with large well laid out car park. Conveniently located. Basically a Scout and Guide centre but a lot more, including adult education, painting classes etc for the whole community.

Nicely appointed building, easy access, attended a craft fair here as a stall holder, getting equipment in and out was straight forward, on similar note wheelchair access should be equally so. The hall our stall was in was light and airy. All in all a good place for events.
