The White Post has just a small team but with years & years of experience in every aspect of hospitality, you will be always welcomed with a warm friendly smile & you will always leave well fed & watered. We are a dog friendly pub so when you make your booking please say if you are bringing your furry friends! Another gorgeous Sunday lunch at The White Post. Food, as always, delicious. The Sunday sharing board never gets old, my only complaint is that we can never finish it all, and I HATE leaving any, as it’s so good! The view is always sublime, and the staff warm and genuinely helpful. We wanted veg without the cheese sauce – no problem. An extra jug of gravy please? Of course! All in all an oasis of Sunday delight, and we come away replete, and in need of a snooze. Though that’s probably the lush Butcombe ale talking! The White Post is the perfect venue for small gatherings of baby showers, birthday celebrations or a wedding. Overlooking miles & miles of stunning countryside, we host monthly puddings @ the post evenings along with a themed event once a month, the likes of surf & turf, Italian, Persian, cocktails & canapés, gin dinners are just a snapshot of what we do. Nothing to fault with this lovely find. Exceptional food, attentive staff and in a beautiful setting. What topped it off for me was the great choice of delicious gluten free meals and desserts

The White Post often do "theme" nights and we went to the American evening which consisted of four separate courses. Even something simple like pulled pork Mac & Cheese was completely home made with the pork cooked for 24 hours! It's a cliche to say that you can taste the difference, but you could, with every single bite. Great food, great service and amazing views. Recommended!

I would have given a 3.5 as I think a 4 is a bit high. We got there just after opening and we asked if we could wait a little bit to order food as the place was quite empty but were told we needed to order immediately. We were planning on spending a couple hours as with any Sunday roast but tables were cleared and bill settled within 40 minutes - all felt really really rushed and not the relaxing country side pub atmosphere we were hoping for. Still great view and roast was good!
