Stayed overnight for our anniversary, took our dog, we were all made to feel very welcome ( dog had her own bed in our room , with treats & a towel!) Beautiful view of lake from room. Staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them. Great location for walks, drinks and food.

If we could give six stars we would. We enjoyed it so much we went back for our second night in Ambleside. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous and the view from our table sealed two fabulous evenings. (We didn't stay at the hotel so unable to rate the rooms)

Loved this place! Very dog (and people) friendly. ❤🐶❤ Our dog was given his own bed,( we did take his own though) towel, poo bags , bowls and treats! Staff were so nice, all over the hotel. Rooms were very clean and facilities were spot on. Only minor complaint was carpets in the room and corridors were a little stained and slightly smelly , but that's the only gripe. I guess that's the downside of dog friendly accommodation. We would definitely return here. 9/10

Very very very dog friendly. Our room was big enough for our dogs crate. The waitress gave us some bed time milk for Lizzie as she has some every night. Our dinner first night was great. Beautiful food well cooked and tasty. Waitresses and waiter were so nice and worked hard. All of them made a fuss of Lizzie. We had a goodnights sleep. Gorgeous comfy huge bed and pillows like marshmallow. Breakfast next day was lovely. Help yourself to coffee and waitress gets tea and toast. Plenty to eat, fruit cereal, juice. Cooked breakfast was cooked just right and served hot. We had a walkers break which includes sandwich lunch the next day. You order the night before. Not good sandwiches. Crisps nice, apples and water. My cheese and pickle was smothered and running with piccalilli which I can not eat. My partners ham and mustard sandwich was smothered in a watery mustard. He managed half of his. Loved our short break with Lizzie and would stay here again. Thank you to all the staff including the cleaning staff. Well done everyone.

Good menu and great tasting dishes at the restaurant in this waterfront inn, marred by the attitude of one chippy server with a man bun who we heard back-chatting various guests throughout our meal. Word of warning when ordering as well, this place insists on upfront payment at the bar, make sure to get a receipt otherwise it becomes tricky to argue that the cocky server has not brought the coffee you paid for (despite being reminded twice).
