The Vine was opened in 1863 in competition with the Lock Inn that once stood opposite. Originally two converted cottages, it extended into adjacent cottages over the years and most internal walls were removed in 1980. It is now a one-roomed pub, it retains distinct areas on different levels, with the restaurant overlooking Kinver lock on the Staffs & Worcs canal. There are extensive canalside gardens.The Vine is very proud to receive the prestigious cask marque award for serving the perfect pint of cask ale. Leon Hutton4 StarGreat location, very friendly staff, the food tasted great, and was well priced. The only negative, and maybe I've just been unlucky, but on the two occasions that I've eaten here it has been over an hours wait for food. On the first time it was a very busy hot day so I think that's understandable, but on the second visit it was very quiet but was still over an hour's wait for just two pizzas.
