Welcome to The Spittal Brook at Stafford

The Spittal Brook is a traditional-looking and well-established community pub with 3 letting rooms that’s Cask Marque accredited and also offers a popular menu of home-cooked food. Quiz nights and entertainment events are generally well attended, and the pub is seen as a friendly locals’ haunt. In the summer months, the beer garden is a real draw.

The pub has two main trading areas: the main bar and the pub’s restaurant space. The kitchen can cater for up to 40 covers throughout. The Spittal Brook is Cask Marque accredited and free WiFi is provided throughout. The pub also offers 3 letting rooms. Outside, the pleasant beer garden to the side and rear of the pub is a great place to enjoy a pint during the summer months. There’s also a smoking solution and parking for up to 14 vehicles.

The pub has just had a full refurb internally and externally and is located at the end of a cul-de-sac just off the main A34 road into Stafford. Situated on the southern outskirts of the town, but within walking distance of the centre.

Good selection of alcohol on draft and in fridge. Don't don't do food until Wednesday and the menu wasn't overloaded with different foods. Nice easy selections. Would like to try the mixed grill but did seem a bit expensive, but if its got quality foods on, im ok paying the price. On Tuesday I went in for a couple of ciders late on. Very friendly atmosphere. Wednesday was quizz night so just stayed for a pint. Good pub would go back again.

Stayed for 3 nights. BEWARE: no food on a Monday or Tuesday. Double room very cramped, bed sideways in alcove, cheap foam mattress, cramped ensuite with extremely slippy shower floor (no ridges or shower mat) and tiny cloakroom washbasin. Nowhere to put toiletries. Nowhere to sit apart from on bed. Room never serviced so supplies never topped up. Ran out of milk on second day and extra supplies in basket on landing never contained milk. Got jug of fresh milk from bar which had turned to blancmange by the morning... Trains run day & night at the level of the room windows, about 30' away. Intercity trains shake the building and goods trains' wheels squeal on tracks. Cannot recommend. Even at £60 per night it is over-priced.
