What a lovely pub. Fantastic views of the beach and well kept. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, outside is a little children's play area which is lovely. I have seen some reviews that say the food is all fried, which most of it seems to be yes, u less you have a sandwich (which are also good quality & tasty) when I go to a beach I like to get fish & chips which here, were perfect, but if you do want something either healthier or meal without fried food this may not be for you. Most of the staff are lovely and friendly, there was one male member of staff who approached me rather abruptly the other day & asked if he could help, but not in a helpful way, in more of a you are in the way kind of way, in that moment I did not feel welcome. However the rest of the staff were lovely.

Stayed here for 2 night. Beautiful room, really helpful & friendly staff. Enjoyed our staff. Reason for only 4 stars & not 5: No reserved parking for hotel guests, yet there are two reserved spaces for the hotel over the road. And our trip was a romantic time away where I proposed to my boyfriend. I had sent 2 emails asking if there’s anything special the pub could do for us. No reply. So I had to call in the end, I requested a candlelit table, for two. We got a table for four. No candlelight. I asked if there could be something romantic done to the room. But they said no. Shame really. But would definitely stay again because it was a lovely place in a perfect location.

We stopped here after a trip to the coast after driving by. Fantastic location and we sat outside enjoying the beautiful views over the beach and sea. We have a 6 year old so we’re pleased to find somewhere with a small play area to keep him happy also. We had dinner, my husband and I had a pie and our son had fish and chips- the food was excellent- really tasty and generous portions. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!

The room was really nice, but quite small. It's was a perfect size for only a nights stay at the price point. The sheets had a stain on them and the double bed was simply two singles pushed together, so there was a gap on between which we kept falling into. The bathroom was really nice and spacy, but the water pressure was every low on the shower, even late at night when not in heavy use. We didn't have a sea view room but the view from the front was still quite nice. The staff were very friendly, helped and explained everything that was needed, great people to chat to as well. The breakfast on the morning was nothing special but was about as expected for the price, but the coffee was exceptionally brilliant. My partner (a non coffee drinker) even had a cup because it was that good. Overall, very pleased, good experience. Will stay again.

We booked for 1 night only, with our dog, also as it turned out my daughter and one grandson came over for a surprise visit from Australia, she had also booked a room for the same night, we wanted to bring our granddaughter also. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful! We had a marvellous evening meal, everything was beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast was awesome. We all had a great time and we will be back soon. Our dog was accepted kindly by the staff who were brilliant! Thanks very much The Ship Inn for a great time!
