The Sheiling in lydiate is an excellent care home. The manager Pauline is caring, professional, supportive friendly, knowledgeable and committed to the people she and her excellent staff look after. My Dad, Arthur was a resident in the Sheiling for three years until November last year when he sadly passed away in Aintree hospital. He was so happy there and called it his home. All of the staff are hardworking and respectful of the residents. Nicky one of the young managers, was one of my Dad’s favourite people because as well as being professional she was also respectful, kind and caring towards him. John, his Key Worker, is also a caring, professional person and Dad thought of him as a friend. He loved Mary and Rose in the kitchen and their lovely dinners. They made time to have a laugh with him as did the other carers there. Three of the wonderful carers took time to come to my Dad’s funeral and all of the staff stood outside as a mark of respect as his coffin passed the home. My Dad was there all through the lockdowns and somehow this amazing group of people got him through the pandemic without him becoming depressed; what an impressive achievement. We looked at so many places and had indeed moved Dad from a previous place in Maghull which was was lacking in all of these qualities. I do not hesitate to recommend this care home whilst it is under the management of Pauline and her incredible team.
