My wife, I and four of our friends had a great time here. Great food and fantastic service. There are also some great walks that you can do from the Inn throug stunning countryside. Highly recommended We stayed from the 28th to the 31st Jan 2022

Excellent... friendly and helpful landlord (Mark) with fantastic rooms, modern and plenty of room including bike storage. Evening meal was a stand out triumph (sea bass 👍👍👍😁) and the breakfast was excellent too. The village is small and feels like it has a community spirit, the Royal Oak even has part of their building turned in to shop & post office. This place is everything you hope for, nestled in some great Exmoor scenery. Thank you Mark and the team.

Quiet country pub, well-kept Exmoor Ale, good social distancing, friendly staff. Credit where credit's due, hand cut, dry-aged Devon Black sirloin was on the menu yesterday and we both ordered it. Start with fine ingredients and a good chef can make magic. Don't think for a minute that anyone can cook and rest a medium rare steak properly. More often than not they can't. This steak dinner was simply superb. Some fresh grilled cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, thick-cut chips and a creamy peppercorn sauce. We felt lucky and very well-served. Well done, chef.

Lovely stay in this beautiful pub. The rooms are extremely comfortable and Mark and Sally are great, friendly hosts. This was our second stay here and will definitely return again. Good home cooked food, lovely beer and many walks out from this illdic village.
