The Royal Oak

An iconic pub in the heart of Castor village since the 1700's.  The Royal Oak is a traditional pub which has something for everyone, serving a selection of local beers, cask ales, cocktails, wines and an extensive gin selection.  As well as artisan coffees, teas and fresh fruit smoothies.  Come and sit by the fire in winter or relax in the beer garden when the sun is out, enjoy a drink with friends and indulge in our hand stretched fresh dough pizzas.

Friendly staff and lovely food in a quiet location. Seating outside was perfect balance of sun and shade. The pizza was delicious.

I honestly couldn’t believe the guy in here! He was very abrupt and rude. Me and my husband went in for food and drinks and I wish I hadn’t. He didn’t say hello, didn’t say thank you. I tried to collect cutlery, as instructed to do so by the guy behind the bar, and he came and took it out my hand and put it on our table without saying anything. If he is a pub owner or manager I am very surprised he has lasted this long with such a bad attitude. The food was lovely and the drinks were good, they do do really nice cocktails but I would never come here again purely for the service.
