A warm welcome awaits at The Royal Exchange

Situated in Hartpury on the A417 between Gloucester and Ledbury, The Royal Exchange is a lovely country pub where you can while away the time eating and drinking with your friends.  Warm yourself next to the log burner or enjoy the amazing views from our heated decked area.

The Royal Exchange was established in around 1855 and is situated on the site where it is said, Cavalier and Roundhead prisoners were exchanged during the English Civil War, hence the pub’s name!

The pub which is now a Freehouse, changed hands in 2012 and belongs to a local farming family who have lived and worked in the area for over 90 years.

Great place to stop for lunch when out for a walk or just a drink. Friendly helpful staff and a great sandwich menu. Lovely traditional country pub. Good stuff

Ice cold drinks. Good food, and a fun dog show! What more do we need on a sunny afternoon?!

Just had a ploughmans lunch here and was very disappointed with the value of food compared to cost of £11.95! On my plate I had 1 very small slice of ham, 2 triangles of cheese which weren't too bad in terms of size, pate was nice enough but only 2 very thinly sliced pieces of bread to go with the cheese and the pate. I asked if I could have more bread, this came out a few minutes after I had finished my lunch, whereupon I had to leave half of the pate! The server just said , I will tell the chefs! Wish I had taken a picture too. I definitely can't recommend this place anymore to my self catering guests sadly!
