Janet is extremely talented and experienced. I knew from our first meeting that she was the perfect person to make my bespoke wedding dress. She really understood my brief and advised when I was undecided about colour and fabric choices. Janet created some gorgeous sketches of possible designs - it was hard to choose a favourite. It was reassuring when very little needed tweaking following fittings. I love my unique and beautiful blush wedding dress. I received so many compliments on the day. I think I’ll have to wear it on our anniversary each year or find other occasions to wear it to! Thank you Janet!

I attended the beginners pattern cutting course at Draft & Stitch which is part of the Robing Room. I enjoyed the course very much and achieved exactly what I wanted thanks to Janet's superior knowledge and skills. The content, pace and environment were all perfect for a positive learning experience. Janet offers a range of garment construction, fashion and pattern cutting courses and I am looking forward to my next one.

I wanted something different for my wedding dress as between my husband and I it was our 7th wedding! I researched locally and was given the recommendation of The Robing Room from an ex student of Janet the owner - ‘if anyone can help you to design and make your special wedding dress, it will be Janet’, and so it was!! I knew I favoured red but was not 100% on the style or fabric. It did not take long to work both out after only my 2nd appointment with Janet. I was shown some beautiful fabrics and styles and provided with a couple of sketch options. A few tweaks and I settled on my dress - a cherry red in Spanish lace with satin under, floor length, backless, long sleeves, and a small pointed train. Janet worked hard over 6 months before the wedding date with many of the finer details being done by hand, it was perfect! I kept the dress style and particularly the colour a secret from all, right up until I walked ‘down the aisle’ - I could tell by the faces of the guests how good it looked, most mouthed ‘wow’ to me as I walked past them to the Registrar. I believe members of my close family were making bets on who would guess the colour of the dress - one of them got it right!! Thank you Janet!! X
