There are two roaring log fires during the colder months, comfy sofas and armchairs to relax in and a lovely cosy dining room set away from the bar.

The cosy flagstone bar is the hub of the pub where you never know who you will end up chatting to. You could be entertained by Simon behind the bar with his bad jokes, regaled with stories from local farmers, meet the King of Ilmington brimming with local knowledge...or you might simply find a quiet spot to enjoy a few drinks.

The Landlord Andy and Landlady Dee love to see new faces always offering a warm welcome to everyone beyond their locals to walking parties, cyclists, families, parties and four legged friends.

These Guidelines have been put in place to keep you & our team safe .. and we hope you feel confident while enjoying your visit to us.

We have worked very hard to refurbish & extend our garden to give more space & more tables.

A new Menu & Opening Times will be available soon going into our first full week.. we will be taking bookings thereon.

Lovely beers on tap, a proper pub with simple food served well - and in the case of the burger at least, in enormous portions! Went for a double burger which was unnecessary but much enjoyed... Super friendly staff and a nice garden at the back

Have been to the Red Lion a couple of times for Sunday lunch..that has been excellent, nice big meals but also many times for drinks..always been happy there. We like the fire and always cosy, just this time I think the cost of a glass of wine and especially the instant coffee (coffee machine wasn't on) was excessive..I did check making the coffee £2.90!! Definitely going to try the Howard next time as we are always walking in the area. Think sometimes if you don't drink alcohol, you can get a poor deal? The White Bear in Shipston would charge £7.90 for the wine and a pint!

Absolutely monstrous burger! Being from a large town full of chain pubs and burger restaurants, the normality is a little burger with Absolutely zero toppings. Now this... this was maybe one of the best burgers I have had in a long while! Would recommend.

When arrived and went to the bar waited 20 minutes to get served .They served all the local people first .Felt like we should not be there would not go again.
