The Owl Tea Rooms is probably the oldest tea room in Norfolk, based in the North Norfolk historic town of Holt. Traditional homemade cakes and pastries available to eat in or takeaway from our bakery. Spacious, licensed tea garden and dining room serving breakfast, lunch and tea. Afternoon Tea a speciality. Dogs can only be accommodated in the garden or at the pavement tables. As the oldest tea room in Norfolk, The Owl is a very special place. So many of our customers enjoy recalling visits with their grandparents as children and this continuity is always a comfort and a pleasure. Who doesn’t enjoy a cosy café selling homemade cakes and savouries?View the Menu. Claudia Pollinger is the hands-on owner and chef at The Owl Tearooms in Holt. She has an inexplicable compulsion to cook and baking has always been a life-long passion. All her learning has been in the kitchen, through watching, practising and perfecting. We have been to The Owl Tea Rooms in the past for lunch but today we decided on a late breakfast - the English breakfast was very, very good - good quality ingredients (sausage, eggs, bacon, etc.) plus the best black pudding. Service was attentive and friendly. We highly recommend you try this place.

One of the best sausage rolls I have ever had (the giant one). And I initially was only stopping for a coffee! Lovely seating area at the back in a secluded garden that was quite a surprise. Very friendly staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Coffee was superb. If you are in Holt then be sure to stop by...

Very nice lunch in outdoor undercover heated facility. Efficient service nicely presented. Fairly priced at c.£10ph for the quality inc a hot drink. Booking could be useful, we were lucky! Dogs welcomed too! On our third visit very long wait from ordering to being served, kindly adjusting our bill accordingly waiving the drinks charge - but cost a *! Lovely crab sandwich, double fried egg sandwich and a sausage & bacon sandwich £35 - good value for excellent quality.

Not bad. Had chocolate brownie, a giant sausage roll, pulled pork pasty and rocky road cake, coffee and hot chocolate to drink. Hot chocolate very good, coffee fine maybe a bit small, rocky road very good. Brownie cooked perfectly, but a little bland not "chocolatey" enough but good. Giant sausage roll was ok, pastry was very dry, and filling lacked flavour, maybe some more seasoning and a bit of sage or something to give it a flavour kick, same said about the pulled pork pasty, just needed more flavour kick and pastry very dry, maybe being critical, but charging nearly a fiver a pop you are going outside of cheap and cheerful. Just lacked a bit of soul, otherwise fine. Horatio's round the corner is better sorry.
