I stayed in this hotel on the 21st of September. The owners were so lovely and helpful and welcoming. The position is fantastic. RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!! The room was so clean and comfortable. Will 100% stay there again. P.s we love your dog!

Absolutely awful place , worst hotel in Essex !! Advertised as a b and b , they don’t offer breakfast or any cooking facilities , the showers are all stone cold please stay away !!!! They also charged £20 for a replacement key which is beyond a joke when it’s less than £15 from other places !! Please avoid at all costs !!!! Cob webs also seen in bathrooms and communal areas.

I stayed at the Melrose for 2 nights, the owners went above and beyond to help me. I will definitely be coming back to stay at some point. It's a beautiful building and I loved my time here.

Disgusting hotel I suppose to stay at Melrose hotel with my family on the 16th of July 2022 Once we arrived there, we realised the hotel was in renovation and it was looking more like a building site inside. The en-suite room was full of dust and spiders and the toilet that we supposed to use (the staff toilet) was disgusting , dirty, with no hands washing and no toilet paper. Holes in the walls everywhere. We were shocked, have never seen something like that before. We left asking for a refund. We didn’t get it. Also they charged me extra money for paying with credit card, but I did payed with a debit card , not credit and should not be charged that extra money. I just hope this reviews will help others to not happen the same. PLEASE AVOID
