Roger Turner2 StarMy wife and I ( day trip )both had the fish and chips at £16.95 each. Chips were good but the fish was dry and made to look larger by copious batter, wine spritzer was flavourless with the lemonade from a tap with little taste.
Service by pleasant and helpful youngsters. Overall poor quality and not value for money. Will not returnSaturday 23rd July 2022
Neil Madden5 StarLovely pub, arrived on sunny day in need of refreshment and was not disappointed. A good selection of draught beers, lagers and ciders to wash down very nice seafood pub grub all the while sat outside watching the world go by on the harbour. Well worth a visit.Wednesday 6th July 2022
David4 StarNice position for a traditional pub next to the dock. Slightly up from the waters edge, it gives you good views from the big windows in the bar.
Our food was good, kids pasta and garlic bread was a decent size and well made. In such a fish themed place I thought the scampi could have been a bit less uniform and generic. Chips were underdone, but the Tartar sauce was excellent. The pizza was tasty and looked handmade, really nice pepper sauce on it.
Beer choice was limited to two ales, one of them was past it's best.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Read outside multiple posters advertising Sunday Roast, the main and kids menu listed a Sunday Roast, so we tried to order two Sunday roasts. They "don't serve Sunday roasts in the summer", even though it's May! Maybe time to take down all the posters then.Monday 16th May 2022
Martin Saunders5 StarHad a lovely sea food plater for lunch, with a few beers at a great pub on Maldon promenade. Great value for money and very friendly staff.Sunday 7th August 2022
Spook Nik4 StarA nice spot to visit. Best fish and chips here, the batter was so crispy and the homemade tartare sauce to die for. We also tried the seafood pizza, the base needed a bit more cooking, but the topping was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be going back again as it was a special day for us.Saturday 16th July 2022
