Now peaceful, the village makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and local attractions

Have just returned from a two day stay at The Fountain. Had a large double room, with en-suite, at the front of the pub. Very comfortable, and both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly Courtney, who couldn't have been more helpful. Food is excellent. Great selection of dishes and lighter bites, all really well prepared and very tasty. All in all, a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, or just somewhere to go for great food (and beer) if staying in the area.

Very friendly and professional crew. Good honest food, excellently cooked and well served. Veggie and vegan options. Child friendly. Dogs allowed in the bar. A well kept pint. Highly impressed. Go there.

We ended up here unexpectedly after a few other places we had tried were not serving. We had wanted to try the restaurant for a while but hadn't found the right time to go, especially under the current circumstances. We were so glad the other places were closed, the food was really delicious. My partner and I both had burgers, I had the vegetarian option and he had the battered chicken burger. They were served quickly. The presentation was lovely. The batter on the burger and the onion rings was perfect. The staff were so lovely and attentive. It wasn't too busy which was nice, but for a Monday lunchtime there was certainly a good atmosphere. We highly recommend The Fountain and can't wait to go back.

Wife and I had steak,well cooked and lovely meal. Will definitely eat there again,and a great selection off home make traditional food,and all there meats come from a butchers up the road.

The food was very nice hot plenty on Friday also we came Sunday for roast there was plenty to eat also the vegetarian meals was lovely the waitress was very good she was very polite and knowledgeable
