Ate at the Cliften on a Sunday - sadly the only thing available was a roast dinner. Cost was not too expensive for what you get (considering similar establishments' pricing). Quality was reasonable but there were some issues with missing items from the plate and overcooked chicken breast. The staff (who are very polite) did make this right for us though in an agreeable manner, and the amazing desserts (pictured) made up for the inconsistent qualities of the mains. Overall, the pub itself and the people who run it make it worth a visit, but it has it's limitations in terms of drinks and food menus. Considering how quaint the place is, I'd advise a visit anyway!

Lovely...staying here overnight on our way down to the South Downs. Very cosy, lovely thatched Pub, with Accommodation. Good Pub food, I had the Duck with risotto and red cabbage, really nice.

Excellent lunch there yesterday. Stopped off on spec, and had a delightful meal of spiced cauliflower soup (strongly recommend) followed by a superb pheasant kiev, accompanied by celeriac. A good mix on the menu of traditional pub food and innovative, different choices. A good selection of beers as well. The current team have clearly done a first rate job of transforming it from the run-down, uninspiring place it used to be several years ago.

The BEST food we had even in the UK. Fantastic flavours, simple yet delightful, homemade delicious bread and impeccable service. A place to cozy up and have a good time. Great accommodation, clean and warm. So welcome and great with children, with a small playground and green fields all around.

Absolutely lush! Brilliant service, nothing to much trouble. Beautiful 14th century Flour Mill with amazing decor. Grounds perfect for functions, family outings on sunny afternoons. The wedding marquee was still up from the season and was a pretty fair size. Rooms was well thought out with all you needed, full toiletries, good tea and coffee selection, white fluffy towels. Heating was easy to use, room cosey with little sky light windows. The breakfast was lush, we went for the Vegan Full English and was not disappointed. Wished we were staying longer. Would definitely recommend. Beautiful little pub - what you would expect in the countryside of Oxfordshire.
