The Barton and the paddock

Why stay here ...

Ross and Nicky Hedden, along with our 3 children Sophie (18), Oliver (15) and Charlie (7), will be delighted to offer you a warm welcome to The Barton Farm CL site. We are located in the quiet village of Weare Giffard and set in the beautiful Torridge Valley in the rolling Devon hillside. Our working diary farm gives the visitors a chance to come see the baby calves and the milking operation (by prior arrangement). We have ponies and Pygmy goats in the paddock next to the site which gives visitors hours of viewing entertainment.

The site itself is just under an acre with large pitches and hard standing. Lawned grass pitches are also available in the summer months for those who prefer these. We have a large 15 foot gateway to make access possible and easier for vehicles all year round; we have electric hook ups for all pitches and room for awnings. The Chemical Waste Point is just on the edge of the CL point. New toilet block installed on site 2018. Wifi available, £1 per night for first stay, free for returning customers.

We welcome children and dogs, we have excellent access to local walks including one just off the site itself which takes in the stunning views of the Torridge Valley and with the Tarka Trail only half a mile from the site cyclists of all abilities can cycle on traffic free paths while admiring the beauty and tranquility of the North Devon countryside.

There are plenty of activities to do in the local area for all ages and we have two sandy beaches less than 5 miles away. The RHS Rosemoor Gardens are approximately 3 miles away and the towns of Bideford and Great Torrington are also 3 miles away with a regular bus service (Stagecoach 75a) passing by the CL site. Big sheep is a family attraction and is located 3 miles away from the CL site. There is an award winning village pub within walking distance, the village park and lots more.

Small caravan park on Barton Farm. Ideal for walkers and cyclists. Close to the Tarka trail. Have been numerous times and look forward to many more visits. Highly recommended.

Nice small friendly camp site. Would be a 5 if it had somewhere to wash dishes and shower. I guess it's be more expensive then though but would definitely stay again.
