Lovely quaint and retro pub/restaurant, with very few like this left in the world. The place itself is smack back in the midst of Penn Common down a narrow country road. Good amount of parking. It really is like stepping back in time - beams, low ceilings and doorways, absolutely love the decor and fairy lights setup inside. Nice outdoor garden too, complete with a large marquee in case of poor weather. The food is insanely brilliant - cheap and you get a LOT of it. Fantastic value for money. Not pretentious, just some fantastic grub. The bar has great character, complete with old concert, football or train tickets on the ceiling. Great selection of drinks. Overall a fantastic place, superb food and we’ll be back again more often than not! Cheers guys 👍🏻

It s okay, it s good that it's outside so you can smoke if u want.. very rustic...Not really my cup of tea... and no cider on draft, that's a bit of a shame..

Off the track but it's worth going out of your way to visit for a pint of ale and some food. The portions are very good and reasonably priced - two mains and two drinks cost less than 30 quid. If there's a few of you planning to eat here it's worth booking in advance as table space is limited. Theres a large gazebo outside with heaters and plenty of benches outside.

Great local pub. The "cobs" are fantastic. Would love to try a meal here. Just be careful if you are over 5ft as there are plenty of low beams!!! ☺️
