Dei Fowkes-O'Dea5 StarWe were there to celebrate my husbands birthday, we were able to book the table that we wanted which was great. From the minute we sat down and throughout our visit we were looked after by Alex. He was without doubt the best ‘waiter’ we have had in all our experiences eating out. He was friendly, professional, welcoming and personable. Nothing was too much trouble and he was attentive without being intrusive to the meal. He is a real asset to The Anchor and to anywhere he chooses to work in the future. The food was excellent as always and the overall experience was top notch. Gavin Gilbert3 StarLovely pub but the food has deteriorated. Starter and desert were lovely, marmalade bread and butter was delicious but Mediterranean veg on a Sunday roast is just a no from me. Ruined the taste of the meal and when I asked why, I was told it's how it comes. Meat was nice but the pork didn't have crackling. Considering this was father day and not a cheap meal at £55 for two people, was very disappointed.Sunday 20th June 2021
Rachy 22115 StarI love this place its kind of my favourite spot. Been coming here for years. Food has gotten much better and renovations over the years have given the pub the life it needed. Was pleasantly surprised we managed to bag a seat outside by the canal in the sun!. Mocktail as pictured amazing. And food was lovely for lunch. Popping in again soon as we do!Wednesday 25th May 2022
Charlie Dolman5 StarMuch improved. Now significantly better than it has been recently. Very good quality food, good value for money. Staff attentive and compotent. Will be returning. If you were disappointed by a visit earlier this year, go back you will be impressed. The makeover is well done, money well spent. Thoroughly recommend to anyone.
