Enjoyed our lunch here in comfy and quite posh surroundings. Spotlessly clean. The staff were polite and attentive. Although our lunch of two hot sandwiches was tasty I would say that a toasted sandwich for £10 (each) was way too expensive. I would try a tea room next time to be honest as I could get the same for maybe £5-6.

Stopped in for a pre-dinner drink the other night. The decor is relaxing and warm. The drinks and service are top notch. Bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and local spirits. Had an order of chips that were probably some of the best I've ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. They triple fry them. Getting ready right now to go back for dinner.

Great place to stay, The only issue is a lack of a car park, we were struggling terribly, finding a space for our car was a massive challenge. Four days of holidays and my partner spent a good couple of hours every evening looking for a space and moving the car around the town... Great breakfasts, Had a dinner once but wouldn't recommend it; not much flavour and rather expensive. Good atmosphere in the pub though...

We ate on a quiet ish Sunday. Problems started when I specifically ordered a starter and side as a main course. When they brought it out as a starter we explained it was a main course and had been specifically asked for it to be such and the guy took it back which would have been fine. However he brought it straight back out and said they would bring the other main courses as quick as possible. I had to explain this wasn’t good enough for the price of the meal as it meant we wouldn’t be eating as a family. If they couldn’t do it this way this should have been made clear at the outset. Eventually they took it back and clearly kept it warm (fine!) till the other main courses arrived some time later. Our food was good, but kids pizza tasted funny and was uneaten. No one came to clear the plates. Even when they brought a pudding, no plates were cleared. In the end, I moved the plates to a sideboard. Pudding was lovely but too big and expensive. Overall it was such a shame of a night as it had lots of potential but there were some big issues which wrecked the mood of the night.

Lovely hotel /bar/restaurant. The double room we were given was very clean and spacious. Huge bed and modern bathroom. They even put a portable fan in the room. Will definitely be staying here on my next visit.
