Welcome to the website for The Riverside Parishes – a group of four rural parishes (including seven villages) located just north of Newark in Nottinghamshire. All the parishes (which are described as a ‘United Benefice’) border the river Trent. There is good reason to suppose that the churches were named after (and possibly founded by) St Wilfrid of Ripon who was a Saxon missionary in this area during the late 7thC. All the churches are of great historic and architectural significance (and all are Grade 1 listed). Three (North and South Muskham and Kelham) are called ‘St Wilfrid’s’, and the fourth, at Averham (pronounced ‘airem’) is ‘St Michael and All Angels’. The Benefice also includes three small villages (Bathley, Little Carlton and Staythorpe). Despite the fact that the parishes share common policies for everything from baptisms to burials each church community has a distinctive feel. Each church has a children’s corner and visitors will also find information on what is going on in the community.   You will find some information about the different churches on this site, as well as contact numbers for churchwardens and the organisers of different groups. Please feel free to contact Revd Georgie or the churchwardens by phone or email for any more information that you need – we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful churches in the very near future.Georgie & The Ministry Team of the Riverside Parishes

Great place, plenty of bays, 1 block of toilets, no rubbish bins so bring some bags to take your rubbish away. Park up on the banks and start fishing. Sweetcorn!
