We stopped by to revisit a site of a photoshoot I did 30 years ago. The church was not open but the grounds were accessible. Time has changed the area with erosion of the riverbank causing most of the wall to disappear. There is a gorgeous weir at the bottom of the churchyard, which you will no doubt hear as you approach. There is ample car parking outside the church on sturdy tarmac which is great if you have mobility issues, and the pathway down to the river has been reinforced underfoot, which made it very stable for walking on.

Quiet, tranquil, great place to paddle with younger kids or have a picnic or a walk with your dog. The shallower water can be accessed via a small bridge through the graveyard. If you continue following the path, you will shortly come to the deeper river water where we saw plenty of older kids swimming and using a variety of blow up swimming gear. Be aware, it can be very busy on hot summer days, though you can still find a quiet spot for a picnic and a paddle/shallow dip.

An incredible spot for swimming. Enter from the bank on the other side of the church. The river stretches from the weir to the bridge. High banks of reeds and water lilies.

Walk through the well maintained churchyard and over a very high narrow bridge to enter a beautiful apple orchard with well maintained paths. Easy parking by the church, is a rubbish bin and dog poo bin in the carpark
