Massive historic parish church, well worth going inside. Plenty of Norman arches plus ancient window and 2 fonts. Just past the pulpit, on the left hand wall, we found some light switches to illuminate the lovely features.

This Norman priory church looks a bit disappointing on entering but it opens up into the most amazing space at the transepts. Lots of Norman architecture, including two Norman fonts and some lovely stained glass.

Know it Well as I had the pleasure of lime washing the righthand side of this Beautiful Norman church dating back almost a thousand years situated in the quiet village of Stogursey the church has some stunning architecture stain glass windows 1 believe is 800yrs old (scared me working around it) and also contains the fossil of an icthyosaur found locally, in the grounds lay the 3 bodies of the unknown soldiers who were washed up on Stolford beach I believe during the war (don't quote me on that) you can also visit the ruins of the castle with a mote the remains contain a modern holiday home in the original gatehouse located on the bridge which can be rented out (bbc Radio 2 dj Chris Evans actually stayed there). There is a post office a shop and the greyhound pud in the village and the Manor house of Lady gas is only a 10min walk away where you can view her estate.

Beautiful architecture in the often underestimated Somerset countryside. A very elegant building and peaceful grounds, worth the visit.

Upon our visit we were informed that there had been a church within this parish from the 11th century
