After reading the amazing reviews, I was really hoping, I would be able to get my 5 yr old daughter in spotlight. I wanted to do just a bit more research before signing her up as she's a very shy, quiet child so I wanted to be sure this would be the right fit for her. Well........After seeing one of the reviews regarding how strict and regimented the staff are and also how they clearly BULLY children as young as my own and even younger children, I started to rethink it. Then I spoke to a few parents of children who attend the school and I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing!! I was absolutely disgusted and horrified. Children between the ages of 4-6 yrs were being called names by the STAFF all because they forgot a step or made a simple mistake, which is to be expected for children of that age. My daughter wanted to go for fun and obviously this is absolutely the WRONG school if your child wants to just have fun whilst learning to dance at the same time. The staff should be absolutely ashamed of themselves!! I work with children of a similar age and if I spoke to any of them in the same way spotlight talk to the kids they teach, I would be sacked within a minute!! But then I wouldn't speak to my own child that way, let alone other peoples. AVOID this school!!!!

Not impressed at all. My daughter attended and would come out completely upset, only to find out she was shouted at and told basically she is not good at dance. She was 5 at the time! It’s all about the money at this school and not nurture or building confidence. Other parents have had similar issues when speaking to them and it seems that miss Vicky is the one to blame. She is not nice and doesn’t communicate at all. In fact I would go as far as to say she purposely avoids talking to parents. However she will freely verbally aggressively communicate with a child so much so my little girl doesn’t want to go back or even go to any dance school. It’s disgusting how she & the school get away with treating children- I did contact and leave messages to discuss to no avail hence the only option is to report to the governing body. I wouldn’t even give 1 star except google made me.

When my 4 year old started this dance school she really enjoyed going and would talk about it every time she came out, but since moving to the new unit she was crying before and after. I thought it was just a phase but she was hysterical one morning before going and knew something was up. I have seen with my own eyes that new starters have come out and said they do not want to go again. I know of 5 children that have refused to go all the same age, and parents have pulled them out the school. Vickys communication is very poor, you can email and text her 10 times and you still would not get a reply from her. I have asked my daughter whats the matter and she has said the teachers shout at us and are very mean to us. She has there is far to many children, it is to loud and we are not allowed a drink because if they drink they need the toilet and it disrupts the class. Dance for this age group is meant to be fun and enjoyable not feel like they are in the military when dancing. I have spoken to other parents and their daughters have said the same that they get shouted at and miss Vicky is not very nice. I think since they moved they have took on far to many children they can handle and all about money rather then the little girls enjoying it. My daughter has now moved to a different dance and gymnastics and found the love for it again because she was put off asking if the teachers are going to shout at me. The new schools have shown nothing but love and kindness towards my daughter. Shame spotlight has a reputation of being a great school but do not believe what goes on behind closed doors. Extremely strict and to strict for 3-4 year olds.

My daughter Olivia started spotlight stage school when she was 3 years old and I must say the last 7 years have been amazing. In this time she has had many amazing opportunities such as annual shows, exams, performing in the west end, representing England at the dance World Cup in Germany, competitions and many more. My daughter has grew in confidence massively and has made lots of friends along the way. We highly recommend spotlight stage school! 🌟

I have 2 children a girl and a boy that attend spotlight stage school. They both absolutely love it there and have come on so much in confidence since joining. They have both been given fabulous opportunities such as taking part in the annual school show and competing in competitions. They are awarded for their hard work by taking and passing termly exams where their teachers and Miss Vicky put in so much time to perfect them. Brilliant school, Highly recommend.
