Snack Caravan

Not the most amazing quality food (see the photo below of the fish ‘n’ chips, where only the chips were eaten), very basic snack type stuff (burgers, chips, butties etc). But then it is an old static caravan serving food at the roadside... Staff were all friendly and polite. Had a laugh with us while ordering. The view round the back over the dock/marina is very placid and calming. Basically, an ok place to pop by and sit with a drink or ice cream enjoying the surroundings. Just don’t go while hungry, expecting a gourmet meal.

Have been a visitor to this caravan for many a year and yet never had fish and chips and never seen a proper plate. What they do have is suitable food for a caravan, chips are good as are the bacon butties and burgers with relishes and cheese and bacon etc. Nothing to be worried about,. Tea and coffee good, particularly their full milk coffee, even better and the prices are reasonable Sue has been there for many a year and seen changes but she never changes and a good banter is enjoyed amongst like minded visitors. Everyone is made welcome.

At the end of a cold blistery walk the chips were actually rather amazing! Crisp on the outside and almost buttery inside! In the time of lockdown with nothing open, this gladdened a hungry heart. Honest food! Thanks guys!!! And the chilli sauce was actually spicy (for once!!!)

Very popular place for motorbikes who meet at the weekend in the summer. Nice place to chill out and watch the lock in operation and see some boats.
