Its a good place for all your DIY needs but sometimes they hold not enough stock.I wanted a set of 4 castors but all they had was 1 of each type or none.Gave up in the end and went to toolstation.

Great Screwfix, loads of parking, nice central location but never too busy. They seem to have most things in stock or its next day for everything else. Only ever had to wait longer than a day on big stuff and unusual power tools. Lots of other stuff nearby if you need it too. Wickes, Toolstation, various plumbers merchants and electrical outlets etc

I live smack bang in the middle of the Letchworth screwfix and the Stevenage Screwfix. I only ever go to Letchworth if stock levels require, for many years now. Compared to Stevenage it's disorganised and the staff not particularly helpful or friendly. It's amazing how two branches so close together are so far apart. Letchworth always has a much longer collection time and when you get there groups of staff seem to be loitering fairly unproductively. It gets 2 stars purely because it is screwfix and they are always brilliant for having what you need so a star has been regained there.
