Welcome to Rossendale Drum Lessons. My name is Mark and I offer 1 to 1 drum lessons in Rossendale for all ages and abilities.
I deliver lessons online and from my purpose built state of the art studio in Rossendale, Lancashire.
I believe every student has a different musical background, strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly – different musical goals and aspirations. It is my job to shape the concepts and materials covered in private drum lessons to achieve these milestones. First I assess the skill level of the student and then work out a schedule based on the initial consultation. As a result, Each student will receive a bespoke lesson structure as I find this to be the best way of achieving great results for the individual.

Sam Draper5 StarMark is an amazing instructor!! He is very patient and allows his students to go at their own pace. If they just want to do fun he will source the music to play your favourite song, or tutor you to take the graded exams. William Waddington5 StarI did lessons with mark since primary school and all through high school and my only reason for stopping was because I couldn’t find time with college work and my job. He was great all the way through, from teaching me the basics of drumming, teaching me how to read music, helping me learn to play songs, explaining the process of recording and getting me several RockSchool grades. He’s not just a good teacher but a very nice guy. Very highly recommend whether you’re just looking to play for fun and learn songs or get grades . 10/10.Thursday 9th March 2023

His teaching is really diverse and has always tailored the lessons to my tastes musically. Furthermore, helping me explore new techniques to further my playing and ability, while also providing quality production on songs I’ve learnt with him . Dan Thornton5 StarMark at Rossendale Drum Lessons has been teaching me, a 34 year old, to play the drums for around a year now, and I am very pleased with my progress. Usually we have lessons in person, and Mark has a lovely set up with which to teach. More recently we have continued our socially distant lessons via skype, which has remained effective.
Mark is a friendly, approachable and highly skilled professional drummer. He teaches both the technical aspects of drumming and the musicality behind why drumming is done the way that it is, which I have found interesting. I have no intention of taking any music exams, and Mark is more than happy to teach with that in mind. He is clearly a talented teacher who can teach in different ways to suit the pupil.
In conclusion I am thoroughly enjoying learning the drums with Mark and certainly plan to continue. I highly recommend Mark and Rossendale Drum Lessons to anyone considering the drums as a hobby, like me, or more seriously!Friday 15th May 2020
Heidi Barker5 StarMark has been teaching my son, Ross, for 6 years. He is kind, patient and knows how to get the best from his students. He is clearly very passionate about his profession and teaching it to others and Ross thoroughly enjoys his lessons and has a good relationship with Mark. There has been no pressure to take exams but Ross decided that he wanted to and has passed grades 2 and 3 both with Merit. He is also using his lessons with Mark towards achieving his Duke of Edinburgh award. I would highly recommend Mark for drumming lessons.Tuesday 25th August 2020
