The joinery delivered by Nick and his team has been outstanding. Always on time, on budget, and exacting in design and fit. Our Grade II listed Hampshire farmhouse required new doors to match existing, new windows to match each existing window of various sizes, designs and vintages, and we finally entrusted them with the wonderful English oak hallway staircase. It's a magnificent piece. Nick and his chief designer, Ian, were wonderfully patient, with the evolution of the staircase design. It had to be right, and it is. The whole process was unbelievably stress free, the fitting highly professional. If only the rest of the renovation trades were as easy and professional.

Absolutely shocking customer care. Can’t believe how I have just been spoken to by Nick. I own a salon in Romsey. Was looking to get two glass shelves replaced and called them to get a quote. Our units had to be dismantled to get the correct measurements meaning our mirrors needed to be removed. After the two men left I noticed a chunk of glass about 6 inches long had been chipped off one side of the mirror. The mirror had been replaced and neither of them said anything. I called Nick and was told he knew and would be replacing the mirror. After chasing for a couple of weeks it was delivered to us, left on the salon against a wall, nothing said. I called the company to enquire as to whether it was going to be refit for us (this process involves removing magnets from the old mirror and attaching to the new, and needs a suction device to remove as the company did) and was told he wasn’t prepared to do this as we were not getting our glass shelves from them. I had never agreed to use them for the shelves - it was a no obligation quote which was £200 more than another glass company and after the hassle we had I didn’t feel the company was very professional. I said this to Nick and he replied with - “you can think what you like I don’t really like you either”! I am absolutely gobsmacked....... I am now left with a large panel of glass just sitting in my salon with customers around and will have to loose money paying for another company to come and replace my mirror which wasn’t even the problem in the first place. I’ve had my business for 6 years and would never dream of speaking to someone like this - regardless to whether they were a customer or not.

Romsey Joinery has done two terrific jobs for me, and I've been very pleased with the precision and quality of their workmanship, on-time delivery and focus on service. My house is old, nothing is square, vertical or parallel, and everything has to be made to fit. The main project was the manufacture of 14 double glazed hardwood windows, followed by built-in shelving, cupboards and drawer units. In a wonky house, the build precision needed for these to work properly and look good is almost impossible for builders' carpenters to achieve on site, but it's also very tricky to be sure that units constructed offsite in a workshop will actually fit the wonky building. This has all cost me a fair amount, but good quality rarely goes with the cheapest quote. I can't stand a poor job, and finished projects stare you in the face for a long time. On this basis, I recommend Romsey Joinery.

I had the need of a replacement solid Oak front door and was highly recommended to approach Romsey Glass and Joinery. I obtained two quotations which were were very similar and chose RGJ . The door was delivered on time and is absolutely stunning. Every effort was made to match the design of two other Oak doors on the front elevation of the house. I was invited to visit RGJ on two occasions to view the progress of work and was impressed with the efforts that were being made to the detail of the design and structure of the door. Full marks to Nick Opperman and his team - a great job !!
