Servicing and repairing your Mercedes-Benz with Project-AMG is cheaper than a main dealer, protects your factory warranty and ensures the future resale value of your car.

By law, you are under no obligation to have your car serviced or repaired by a franchised dealer. Project-AMG use manufacturer-approved parts and are authorised to service your Mercedes-Benz to the same exacting standards as a main dealer, so resale value is unaffected. We have lower overheads, so the cost is cheaper.

Since 1995, the motor industry has been regulated by a “block exemption regulation” which governed how franchised dealers could operate when selling products and services. This “BER” also specifies that technical and repair instructions have to be made available to independent specialists so car owners aren’t obliged to take their car to a franchised dealer for spares, servicing or repairs.

In 2002, further changes were made to the BER to increase choice when it came to servicing of a new car – in short, the regulation states that you cannot be obliged (as a condition of warranty, for example) to have your car serviced by a franchised dealer.

Instead, the work can be carried out by an independent garage as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer’s service schedule. Independent garages generally have much lower overheads than franchised dealers so their hourly labour rate is also cheaper. More information is available here.
