If I could put no stars I would!! £215 - staying with family who live nearby this was really one of the only options, yes high season so appreciate higher cost but in the room the price list clearly stated £115 for the most expensive room(I took a photograph) and it did not state “from £115” it said £115! I did not expect the world in fact far from it, but wow! No hot water, tried to find someone to discuss this and no one to be found to tell them so showered at families house as was unable to in the room and the following morning a cold shower was it! Then the best bit having not been told the hotel would lock at a certain time or given a key or a code! We arrive back at around 1.30 to be unable to get into our room at all - thankfully I was with my husband as alone would have been awful given the area leaves an awful lot to be desired!! Called the hotel for around hour and half as even our car keys were in the room eventually to have a very sleepy I can only assume staff member who should have been doing the night shift let us in!! I also read the hotel information thoroughly and advice of this was no where!!!! The next morning well 10am check out - incredible - I stay in a lot of hotels and never seen 10am especially given the cost for such a basic hotel and I was unable to sleep in the room when I wanted too! I have emailed OYO to resolve this matter before posting this - 7 emails, phone calls and ZERO response! So I shall post a bad review on all possible platforms!! In this age - where people are watching money and being so so careful! Robbing people blind as a company should be called out!!!

We were very pleased with the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Some of the guests were a little loud (and got told off) and a there was a late night bar opposite, but there were minor quibbles and we had a great time and were well looked after. Would definitely visit/stay again.

Our experience is a little clouded by the fact that a previous guest had managed to push one of the double glazed window units through. This had been boarded up rather halfheartedly and even with the addition of cushions plugging the gaps it was very noisy, the karaoke bar across the road being the main culprit. This wasn't a deal breaker for us, but we should have been re-roomed really. Others would certainly have complained. The room was otherwise very pleasant, comfy beds and well fitted out in good condition. It would have been a 5 star rating for the room had it not been for the window. We ate at the hotel one evening. The food is cheap rather than inexpensive, certainly not terrible but what we had was not Wetherspoon standard. There was no-one there when we checked out so we had to leave the keys in the room. Not ideal, and we didn't leave especially early, it was 8:30. This is why I have marked service quite low. The lady I dealt with was pleasant and helpful. Its a great location, but it is busy and noisy until closing time. I'd stay here again, but I'd want to pay the same price as I did in a Black Friday deal.

Me and my son stayed here for the night so we could enjoy a couple of days in Clacton on the beach. We came across this hotel online and booked fairly last minute. The hotel itself was so clean and fresh and decorated lovely, our bedroom was amazing with drapes all round the bed, again all decorated lovely. And the staff were amazing too! Becky in particular really went above and beyond to help us through your short time there and she really helped us out a lot. A very kind nice lady who made us feel safe and welcomed. We will most certainly be coming to stay again when we next plan a trip away! Thanks again for the hospitality! Xx
