Sabine Apitz5 StarLovely, lovely ham. We have bought from Bill twice - first, whole, boneless oak-smoked hams for the holidays, and now, some packs of sliced ham, as we were craving more, a few weeks post-holiday. My husband is currently happily eating a ham and cheese sandwich. Very happily.
Bill was helpful and friendly - he clearly loves what he does, and cares about his ingredients and products. We live nearby(ish) and dropped by to pick up the ham, though I think he delivers or ships (not sure which). It was lovely. Not too salty. Wonderfully smoky, with the beautiful flavour of good quality pork. When sliced thinly, it is crumbly and tender - just what I want in a ham. We ate it in sandwiches, on a Christmas Eve cold platter, with eggs and in salads. A rather large bit of ham vanished into thin air. Beware - you will become addicted. I'm hoping he starts selling at our local farmer's market soon!Saturday 22nd January 2022
