What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

A Tarn that you can easily walk around or drive around with a decent mobility scooter. Plenty of wildlife to see including these in the photo. About 1.8 miles around but with extension walks possible. The cat park is National Trust, free to those who are members and at the time if reviewing £5 for 2 hours for those who aren't. Good restrooms / toilets.

Beautiful scenic and tranquil location. It's really refreshing to walk around the perimeter in a couple of hours or so. Would highly recommend a visit, good for the family and an overall enjoyable experience for all ages.

Lovely lake and good path round it. Suitable for pushchairs. Even had an Easter trail on when we visited. Would really like to go back and get the paddle boards out (if allowed as we didn't check)

What a fantastic place to visit. Parking can be a bit tight but its always worth a shot. Loads of superb walks plus one which is about as flat and level as you will get in the lakes.

Gravel path all the way round with some short steeper inclines. Great views all the way round. Tom Gill waterfalls are more of rocky path and reasonably steep but can be accessed from the bottom for an easier walk.
