Two lunch time visits made.Drinks only on first visit. Staff good and helpful. Pub almost empty. Second visit had a few more customers. We were a family group of four, only one other table had ordered food as far as I could tell. We ordered main courses which took close to forty minutes to arrive. Our food was well cooked, hot and tasty. These two visits did not inspire us to have lunchtime meals there again.

Got here as it opened. Love The Monks Brook, it’s how a proper pub should be. Great atmosphere, pub grub, and great selection of drinks. There’s always something going on for the community too. Massive thumbs up from us!

Had a lovely meal with my partner. Steak was cooked perfectly (Med-Rare). My partner had the all day breakfast which she enjoyed very much. Staff were very friendly. Cant recommend this place enough.

We just popped into the pub on our way home from the beach (on one of the recent ridiculously hot days) as we both needed a cold drink. Had a nice welcome from Steph and the pub was quite cool inside. Two pints of Stella certainly revived us!

We booked a table online 30 mins before arrival, a young gent explained what the pub had done for social distancing etc and showed us to our table (very reassuring). We decided to give the app a go with the ordering, not the best app in the world but we managed it fine and we got what we ordered so that was good too. Staff seemed very pleasant and food was good value and tasted good. The biggest let down was some of the other customers who either didn't see the need to socially distance or couldn't read! Eg. The pub had taken the time to do a one in one out system on loos but it was just being ignored. The loos could do with a refurb as well - gents hot water not working and tap was very loose (as I told my 4 yr old - its important to wash your hands with hot water and soap after using the loo!) If I am being picky in my old age I'd also say the music was a tad loud..! ;-) The pub served its purpose, we needed somewhere for a meal and drink before continuing our journey and did exactly that. An OK experience as per the star rating.
