Teaching music is my passion. As a violin tutor, I am always looking for what will inspire my students to excel in their own way, finding the right tools and musical direction for each individual. This might mean working through grade pieces (with or without examination) finding styles that particularly ignite the student's imagination, or fostering any composing/improvisational desire/skills that may be there. I believe that this tailored approach is the best way to build the foundation for a joyful and sustainable musical life. I was fortunate enough to be taught violin from a very young age by some fantastic teachers, who instilled a great love of music in me. I now consider it an absolute joy to pass on this skill to others in a supportive and relaxed, yet challenging way. As a performing singer, violinist and artist -(www.karengracemusic.net), I also feel that I pass on my genuine passion for music, which I feel is such an important part of teaching the wonderful instrument that is the violin. My classical background has greatly influenced the music I write and perform, which these days is more on the folk side of things ... Hampton, Hampton Wick, Teddington, Hampton Hill, Fullwell, Hampton North, Twickenham, Ham, Petersham, Heathfield, Whitton, St. Margarets, East Sheen, Kew, Mortlake, Barnes, East Molesey, West Molesey, Thames Ditton, Long Ditton, Claygate, Esher, Walton on Thames, Chessington, Surbiton, Tolworth, Norbiton, New Malden, Berrylands, Rayne's Park.

Karen has been teaching my daughter for almost two years now. During this time her violin lessons have always been enjoyable. Karen gives constructive feedback so my daughter is aware of her strengths and the areas where she needs to improve. Karen is an inspiring, patient and calm teacher who adapts to what works for the student. My daughter has progressed and improved steadily.

I have two children, early teens, studying with Karen at an intermediate level. We have been through a number of Tutors. I am pleased to say that under Karen's guidance both my children are finally making real progress! Karen really understands how to identify weakness and encourages her pupils to make consistent improvements! Thoroughly recommend!

Karen is an excellent Violin instructor who really knows how to breakdown and explain what you need to do to improve. I enjoy the way she mixes up the tricky technical tasks with playing fun pieces and duets which give a really nice sense of achievement and progress. I highly recommend Karen to anyone who wants to take up the challenge of learning the Violin.

Karen is a great teacher. She tunes into how you learn and helps you accordingly, but also finds a way to teach you correct technique and posture as well. She gives you constructive feedback which for me is huge as some teachers have been discouraging with their criticism. Since Karen has been my teacher my confidence and ability to play has improved immensely. Thank you Karen!

Karen helped our son find enjoyment again in playing the violin. As an intuitive teacher she found ways to connect his 'outside' interests with his music to keep it fresh and interesting for him. She is a talented and committed teacher and we highly recommend her.
