Julie's is by far the best alterations shop I've come across in Tunbridge Wells. But before I carry on with my review to back up the above statement, I have to make a little premise. I have a particular taste for asymmetric designs and anything that and looks quirky, so whenever I get my hands on the right garment, I always like to have it adjusted to better fit my body frame and to give it that personalized, unique look that really stands out. My previous experiences with other alterations shops in the area (I have been to three different ones, which shall remain unnamed) had always been somewhat disappointing. In some cases the jobs were either done poorly (darts made too tight or not sewn properly) or the tailor I was dealing with was plainly unable to satisfy my requirements. Then two months ago I found out about Julie's, this little shop in Camden Road, so I decided to give it a go and bring in two shirts that needed alterations. My first impression after speaking with Julie was extremely positive. I knew from the get-go that my shirts were going to end in the hands of a top seamstress. From the fitting to the finer details, she explained to me in a very professional manner exactly what needed to be done to achieve the look that I wanted, and then she duly delivered! On top of that, I casually talked to her about the previous sloppy alterations I had done in other shops, and she asked me to have a look at those shirts. Long story short, she's been able to mend those too and they look and fit better than I imagined. Overall, I can't give enough praise to this lady and the services she provides. A true master of her craft, she found in me a customer for life.

What can I say, I came to Julie with a photo design of for an evening wedding dress I wanted to replicate (giving three weeks notice). Julie committed so much time to making the material I purchased work with the design of the dress, going above and beyond to create the perfect dress. Julie has created a dress on par with Emma Beaumont Atlier’s bridal dresses which costs thousands, I received so many compliments. If you want something bespoke and beautiful on your wedding day, designing and creating your gown with Julie every step of the way, then give Julie a call. Julie is by far the best tailor/seamstress I have ever used. She is so kind & welcoming, making you feel like you are in trusted hands. Her attention to detail is so reassuring. I had a very complicated bridesmaid dress that needed a lot of altering as I had just had a baby. I couldn’t believe how neat the stitching was - you would never have known the work that had been done to it, it fit me absolutely PERFECTLY. Very happy and I will be returning in the future. Julie designed and made a beautiful item from Designers Guild velvet fabric for me. The finish was second to none and it was a absolute pleasure from start to finish. Been taking all my alterations over to her since. Excellent work!
