Afternoon tea was very disappointing. the sandwiches were like doorsteps, the cakes needed to be cut in half and the fillings apart from the cheese and chutney were bland. Surely an afternoon tea for two should have two of everything. The big cakes should have been cut ready and presented nicely. Even though I had booked on line for the afternoon tea I still had to get up and go to the till to order it even though they only needed to know the flavour of scone and tea. Surely we could have been asked this at the table. For a £45 experience and one of the more expensive afternoon teas including the hotels in Stratford I thought this was very poor. The staff even though were very new and didnt really know what they were doing were very polite and friendly so thats why they have got 2 stars. I certainly would not return or recommend.

A real treat to have a quality sausage in a decent bread roll. The pickle was delicious too. Excellent service and spotlessly clean.
