Hotel Indigo Exeter, an IHG Hotel

What a great stay! The Hotel had opened just a week before I visited, so I thought there might be some issues, but absolutely none at all. Very friendly staff, prime location, and great rooms. Had an excellent dinner at Colson's their fish restaurant, and breakfast was one of best ever in an IHG Hotel, if a little pricey. I would only make one observation: the evening menu was perhaps a little fussy but this would be easily remedied by adding a "Catch of the Day" which could be offered grilled or deep fried as a more straightforward option. There is no parking at the Hotel given its location in a pedestrianised quarter of Exeter next to the Cathedral, but parking is a five minute walk away and cost me just £5.00 overnight.

Fantastic newly opened (Dec 2022) hotel in a great location by the cathedral and main shopping street. For a chain hotel it has a lot of character in the decor of the public areas and the rooms. We stayed for New Year’s Eve. There were a few snagging issues which I think are par for the course for a newly opened hotel, like, some staff not familiar with check-in system, running out of champagne at the bar, spa not available due to a chemical issue, hotel only able to serve eggs for hot items at breakfast, so would be worth checking in advance if you are going by what amenities are available on the IHG website, and they are critical in deciding whether to book or not. Rooms were a little narrow, but well designed and bathrooms very stylish. Definitely a class hotel that will only get better as initial kinks are ironed out.

Absolutely stunning hotel! Fabulous decor, and so clean. Staff are super friendly, chatty, smiley and helpful. The chefs are INCREDIBLE! Highly recommend the food here!! The spa is divine, so relaxing and peaceful. In the centre of town, it’s in a fab location - will definitely be back for some weekend respite, and definitely more dining experiences!

A fabulous hotel in a fantastic location in Exeter. The rooms were a great size, beautiful decor and the staff were SO friendly. A big shout out to Kevin who made incredible cocktails and talked to us about his favourite cocktails and creations. I'll be back ☺️

We stayed in one of the premium twin double rooms. On entering we were greeted with lovely staff and the look and feel of this recently completed hotel was fabulous. After a swift checking in we went up to the room. Lovely design and no corners cut on the finish and the room facilities. Little nespresso machine and china cup and saucer, well stocked mini bar. Bathroom was also really luxurious and generous in size. Fabulous rain shower and exquisite smelling shower gel/shampoo/conditioner...and my favourite little detail and under basin light for when you wake in the middle of the night when the last thing you want is a bright light! Nice touch. The bar in Colsons restaurant had a great atmosphere, offering huge selection of wines and spirits. Spa was just lovely, had a manicure too - staff were all super accommodating. Last but by no means least, the breakfast was absolutely delicious! High quality produce cooked beautifully. Will be back!
