Picturesque Lytham

Located at the mouth of the Ribble Estuary, Lytham was a thriving fishing and shrimping community for over a thousand years before the industrial revolution turned it into the residential location of choice for wealthy Lancashire industrialists. 

The many fine Victorian and Edwardian residences they built, including Hedges House, maintain the elegance and old fashioned charm of this genteel town, nicknamed ‘Leafy Lytham’ after its many tree-lined streets

Hedges House itself is within easy reach of Lytham Town Centre, the promenade, the recently restored windmill and the beautiful Lowther Gardens with its theatre and bowling green. Just a short walk from Hedges House you’ll find excellent shops, quaint cafes and speciality food stores catering for all tastes.  

With its peaceful parks and gardens, beautiful old half-timbered buildings and lovely sandy beach, it’s easy to see why Lytham is such a popular town to retire to.
