Stayed in the car park with our caravan as a one night stopover on our way home to York from Cornwall. Dog friendly in one area but I suggest booking a table if you want to eat inside, food was great and we were both impressed with portions and presentation etc! Would definitely return if in the area and would recommend to others :)

Lovely spot to grab a bite to eat! Travelling home we pre booked a table. Lovely to be welcomed by happy, smiling staff... Really friendly and polite, efficient service. Food was good... Typical pub grub. Did the job. Happy with the price and blue light discount offered!! Thankyou! Toilets clean and tidy. Overall grand experience. Would recommend.

So we stopped for lunch on our way home. I opted for the carvery, my partner wanted Pate, and Lasagne. They had no pate, the Lasagne for the price was not exactly a big portion, in fact a hungry child could have eaten it all. The carvery was OK, the amount of meat given per plate, you may as well be vegetarian, and the beef was tough. For a big busy eaterie, having only 2 people behind the bar made the experience a lengthy one waiting to place your food and drink order. The external of the pub was very nice and the seating arrangement outside was nice too. Plenty of parking too. Would I go back again, very doubtful, when you spend good money you expect to have a good experience and good, not so I'm this case.
