A nice pub with friendly, helpful staff situated in Union Street, just off Week Street, a pedestrianised shopping area in Maidstone. They have a pretty good selection of drinks on offer, especially some very interesting rums and gins when I was there. There is a nicely laid out seating area behind the pub for some al fresco drinking, with some areas in the sun and others offering protection from the elements. Also, an abundance of attractive, colourful flowers hanging up, which made it a lot more appealing.

Update April 2023 Had a few Timothy Taylor beers which were very enjoyable, great land lady and not as expensive as you would think being so close to the centre of town. Have not been in the Duke of Marlborough for over 40 years. The out side patio area to the rear is fantastic.

Could do with a better selection of ales tbh. But the beer garden is nice and the live band is great.

Nice place with friendly staff and the world's supply of large screen TVs - you can see at least two everywhere you go inside!! Pool table, large garden out back with live music. Spacious, clean, well maintained. Recommended.

Community pub near the centre of town. Nicely decorated, well maintained and clean. Shame that no cask ale on when I visited. Large screens for sports but this doesn't dominate the pub. Beer garden out the back looks brilliant. Christmas decorations were going up when I visited.
