Ed Holliday5 StarWasn't sure what route to take with my draughty old Victorian sash Bay windows. They are part of the character of owning a Victorian semi but freezing in winter by modern upvc double glazing standards .... I had 4 options:
1- Upvc sash + Wood grain effect double glazed windows and frames ( complete rip out and replace)
2- New full size double glazed sash windows & frames ( complete rip out & replace)
3- Patch things up with a draught proofing / sash window service but stick it out with single pane glass
4- Renovate by just replacing the sash windows (but not the window frames) with new wooden sashes fitted with an ultrathin double glazed glass unit
Luckily I went for the latter and I'm very pleased with the result... I have saved and kept the victorian character very pleased!Thursday 24th June 2021
