About Camvol

Camvol was established in November 2006, and is a UK registered charity.

Camvol organises volunteer placements and internships with think tanks, and environment- and development-sector related organisations in India. Students usually travel to India, and volunteer during the University summer vacation, between July and September each year, for a period of eight weeks. Undergraduate and graduate students who are finishing their degree courses can often be accommodated for longer periods, and can start their placements in the September-October period.

Due to the Covid pandemic and restrictions on travel, a small number of placements were offered remotely during the summer of 2020. Placements in summer 2021 will also be offered remotely, as travel restrictions remain in place.
