Poor service in branch, machines only on a Saturday morning, only one available to pay in money and was a long wait. Machine then went down. Staff very apologetic but this is not the service I expect.

Very poor and disappointing in all respects. Barclays in Chesterfield is still only open three days a week (August 2021) and even when open, the counters are often closed. Inconsistent, inconvenient and incomprehensible when all other banks in the town appear to be open 5 or 6 days a week. I telephoned Barclays to point out the problems I have encountered and was told it would take 20 minutes (!) to make a formal complaint, so didn't bother. I also visited the branch to speak to a member of staff about the many issues. The response was basically: "Well, we are no worse than anyone else"! Really??? You would be better off putting your money under the mattress than banking at Barclays Chesterfield. I have banked there for 37 years and will be taking my custom elsewhere. It is difficult to rate things like customer service when there isn't any so, like a previous reviewer, I have simply given one star because I can't give zero. Whatever you do, don't open an account here.

Only bank I've ever been in with two people working and one machine. A queue a mile long and then they won't let you pay money in. Never been in bank like it. Just have a letterbox. No need for a building. Gave one star because you can't put zero.

Very limited opening hours. It was the only bank in Chesterfield with such restrictions and they are still the same even after all retail has opened up again. No good for people working Monday to Friday at all.

My husband doe his business banking here and its ridiculous that they have now cut the hours down even more now making it impossible for us to get to the the bank and deposit cheques. What would be better is if they opened up the letterbox at the side of the door so cheques can be posted through there..1 so it's easier for people who cannot get to branch during opening times and 2 to cut the queues down outside making it safer for everyone.
