We used Anark to install a Google Nest Thermostat. Great service, very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Took about 30 mins plus another 15 to explain everything to us and how to use the device efficiently. Can’t rate them highly enough, would definitely recommend them and will use them again for our electrical needs.

We hired Anark Electrical to install some Google Nest products we purchased for our existing Google Home account and we did not have a positive experience. We hired Anark because they boast themselves as a “UK No 1 Google Nest Elite Pro Installer”, but given our experience, we’re very perplexed how they can even say this. Anark sent us a technician who admitted he had never installed one of the Google Nest products we purchased and hired Anark to install. He ended up taking an unreasonably long time attempting to install it at our home (spending majority of time calling Google Nest for help) and left without completing the installation. Anark had the audacity to charge us nearly 400 GBP for this. We pushed back and they took some time off, but we ended up being charged nearly 200 GBP to essentially have their technician screw some things to walls/doors. The scope of works was to (a) set up our Google Nest Router + Hubs, (b) mount Google Nest Doorbell outside, connect it to power, and (c) mount three smoke alarms in the home. Item (c) was the only thing done satisfactorily. Item (a) was not completed and Item (b) was done poorly and was not connected to power. We paid nearly 200 GBP for nothing and a lot of my time was wasted that day. We could have hired a handyman for much less to screw the fire alarms to the ceiling and screw the doorbell to the door. Now we need to hire someone else to wire the doorbell to power since this was not done by Anark. ====== DETAILS / FEEDBACK POINTS SENT TO ANARK ====== I personally believe this service took much longer than it should have due to the lack of experience of the technician. The technician was nice and genuinely seemed to want to get the job done, but his lack of experience/training with some products prevented him from completing the job. (a) Issues with Setup of Google Next Wifi Router and Two Wifi Points: It became very obvious to me that the technician was unfamiliar with the Google Nest Router and Wifi Point system because he had many issues with setup (which he wouldn’t have run into if he had experience, as it turns out the solution was painfully obvious). He told me right away this was the first time he’d ever attempted to set up this type of system. I was extremely shocked to hear this and I responded by telling him we hired Anark Electrical because we thought we were being provided with an expert in Google Nest products so that this would go quickly/smoothly. He gave me a poor response to this, which was equally shocking. He spent over 2 hours trying to figure this out, including 1.5 hours on the phone / on hold with Google trying to figure out how to install the Google Nest Router and two Google Next wifi points, which I could have done myself rather than sitting in the same room watching him do it. The technician was unable to complete the set up this system before he left. Moreover, he did not give me an overview of the system at all. This was disappointing. I worked through this myself and, as it turns out, the solution should have been extremely obvious to him if he was truly an expert installing Google Nest products/systems. (b) Issue with Google Nest Battery Doorbell: I bought the doorbell that could be wired to power (without wiring to a chime). I expressed a desire to have this wired to power but the engineer didn’t give me this option, but he said it wasn’t necessary and didn’t explain why. I’ve been researching because the doorbell only lasts three days on battery when taking advantage of its full capabilities (e.g., detection when someone is at the door, Nest aware). I honestly could have installed this doorbell myself and would have done so had I known it wouldn’t have been wired to power by Anark. Moreover, I had to go outside and remove the doorbell from the door frame and reinstall it because their technician installed it crooked. We will now need to pay another company to wire the doorbell. We essentially paid Anark for nothing since all they did was put the doorbell on the frame.
