Ending COVID-19 restrictions

Update: 05/09/2022

Due to the improving situation with Covid 19, we have decided to drop most of our previous measures but will still provide hand-sanitiser at the door and respect any customer’s wish to wear a face-covering in the shop. We trust that our customers will also be respectful of others who may feel more vulnerable than most.

The Shop in Alfrick is thriving and open from 9 til 5 weekdays and 9 til 12 weekends, serving the needs of the local community. There’s a wide range of stock including flour, yeast, bread, eggs, local meat, groceries, beers and wine, pet food, and lots of lovely local fruit, vegetables and plants. We also have freshly made cake and sandwiches made in the cafe by our volunteers.

The Post Office is operating from 11:00am till 4 pm on weekdays.

The café and its garden are open everyday except Monday (when we host a drop-in session called Tea and Chat in the afternoon). Groups are advised to contact us ahead of time to book so that we can be sure we have enough stock and volunteers to serve you.

Check our Facebook page: Alfrick and Lulsley Community Shop for updates or see the Notice outside the shop.

None of this would be possible without the fantastic efforts of many volunteers and staff, both in the shop and behind the scenes, helping to keep our community strong. Thanks are due to all of them. Thank you, everyone, for your continued support and understanding. Please be patient if there’s a queue, we will strive to serve you as best as we can.

Very enjoyable, polite and friendly staff. However I do feel £1.20 for a slice of toast or £1.60 for a tea to be excessively over priced, especially when a instant coffee is £1.20. My tuna mayo sandwich which was very nice was definitely NOT worth £4.20..... Personally I think they would get more people using the cafe if they had cafe prices and not Costa or Starbucks prices. But as I said a lovely place with lovely people. Unfortunately I won’t be returning!
