They went out of their way to make arrangements for us to pick it up after hours on a Saturday because we had to take our dog to the vet. Today (Saturday morning), I broke a brake pipe on my 1955 Rover and visited Hobbs in despair.
The guy said he’d make one in ten minutes! Wow!
Ten minutes later I collected a perfect brake pipe made with proper imperial fittings.
“This sort of immediate service doesn’t come cheap”, I’m thinking.
He charged £5 and wouldn’t hear of taking more.
That, my friends, is what you call great old-fashioned service. I thought that died out long ago!
